About the Lakers
Make our own history by ensuring that the Caroline Springs Football Club is a success.
On 15 May 2002, football and school leaders met to discuss developing the game in the area. A public interest meeting followed on 19 June 2002.
About 80 people came, including representatives from the AFL, Football Victoria, the Western Bulldogs, Williamstown and Collingwood, the Western Jets, Melton Council, every local school and the developers of the area, Delfin. It was obvious that the people wanted a club in Caroline Springs.
With such a great turnout, it was obvious that the people wanted a club in Caroline Springs. The Lakers history, 2002
A steering committee of football people, councillors, school principals and local parents met every two weeks to create the club. A partnership with the Williamstown and Collingwood football clubs gave it a lifelong financial and resources agreement. The colours are the two clubs’ colours: black, white, royal blue and gold. It was here that they were given the name “The Lakers”.
Delfin also agreed to help with start-up costs. With both partnerships, the club was given a flying start. The inaugural AGM was held on Tuesday 15 October 2002 at The Brookside School, Federation Drive.

Executive committee
I’ve been at CSFC since 2009 when my son commenced playing footy at the Under 10’s Level. After one training session I became that team’s coach, and the rest is history. Creating a safe and welcoming environment and a clear pathway for our young boys and girls has been a real highlight. I also take extreme pride in starting the female football program back in 2015 with the first Junior Girls team. But the ultimate highlight is the people you meet along the journey. Throughout all the highs and lows, you make friends for life, which is what I cherish the most. See you all at the footy!
Currently in my 9th year with the club, I have been involved with CSFC since my children began playing for the Yellow, Blue, White and Black. Utilising my nursing background, I’m never too far from the action when there is an injury on the field. I have a desire to see the club grow over the next 5 years to become the destination club of choice for both Football and Netball.
Our family got involved with CSFC in 2015 when AR started in Under 10’s, Justin became the coach & I was the Team Manager thrown in the deep end, welcome to footy, community & volunteering, we haven’t looked back. We all do what needs to be done from budgeting to toilet roll refills, merchandise to vacuuming/mopping, barista to ground checks. I enjoy the family & community of the club, everyone is welcome. Go Lakers!
I’ve been involved with CSFC for about 10 years. My children participated in Auskick and have progressed through to junior football. I have 4 children playing from U9 to U18. I am also a member of the Senior Women’s team. Seeing the growth of our female junior teams is another highlight. Going from a couple of female players to now full teams is amazing.
